I still have a blog! I can't believe I haven't posted anything this month. We camped this past weekend with the Wilma's! It was a BLAST! I can't wait for Memorial Weekend...Tongue River...HERE WE COME!!
I also walked the 2 mile race in the Women's Run with some ladies from work. The weather was perfect for a walk.

This weekend I am heading to Helena for The Race For the Cure with the Wilma's. We always have a great time together.
Shane & I went to Cooney on Sunday. I was able to snag 2 Lake Trout even know the wind was a houling.

Camping anyone?

UPDATE!! We are camping next weekend. Sorry to confuse everyone :) I thought we were camping the first weekend of May. Guess we will have to party Wilma style then. I am READY NOW!!

We are planning on camping & fishing this weekend at a friend's farm outside of town. I CANNOT WAIT!! I hope it isn't too chilly. It is suppose to be in the 50s but it may be rainy. Friday night is suppose to get down to 32.

Pretty awesome scenery!

Trent is getting ready to move in to his new place. He thinks within a month! It looks great! I can't wait for his house warming party.

We usually go camping at the Tongue over Memorial Day weekend. But they have decided to make designated camp spots, 40 to be exact, and this probably won't hold all the thousands of people that go there. So I don't know what we will do. There is usually about 30 in our party alone. So we may have to camp at another spot or even at another lake. The fishing is outstanding there though.

Celebrate Good Times

It really felt like just another day. So I turned 35. I thought I would feel different somehow. But I don't. I thought by 35 I would have kids. But I don't. My friend told me how mature I will be when I do have kids. She is so right. Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes we just have to be patient to see that reason for something that happened or will happen.
Friday night was pretty uneventful. We grilled elk steaks. SO YUMMY! I like elk so much more than beef. So much flavor.
Saturday we fished & caught some trash fish, shad. It was good to get out even though it was a little on the chilly side. Pretty windy but still had a good time.
Then Sat night we went to the PBR Nile Invitational. Zack Brown won & what a ride he had to finish off the competition. Flint Rasmussen is such a great entertainer!

Then it snowed Sunday. We probably got a couple of inches. It is still pretty white today but it is melting. I am thankful it didn't snow on my birthday.

Judy Wallman, a professional genealogical researcher, discovered that Hillary Clinton's great-great uncle, Remus Rodham, was hanged for horse stealing and train robbery in Montana in 1889.



The only known photograph of Remus shows him standing on the gallows. On the back of the picture is this inscription: 'Remus Rodham; horse thief, sent to Montana Territorial Prison 1885, escaped 1887, robbed the Montana Flyer six times. Caught by Pinkerton detectives, convicted and hanged in 1889.'



Judy e-mailed Hillary Clinton for comments. Hillary's staff sent back the following biographical sketch:



'Remus Rodham was a famous cowboy in the Montana Territory . His business empire grew to include acquisition of valuable equestrian assets and intimate dealings with the Montana railroad. Beginning in 1883, he devoted several years of his life to service at a government facility, finally taking leave to resume his dealings with the railroad. In 1887 he was a key player in a vital investigation run by the renowned Pinkerton Detective Agency. In 1889 Remus passed away during an important civic function held in his honor, when the platform on which he was standing collapsed.'

Thankful Thursday

Yes I am thankful it is Thursday. It has been such a busy week. I am ready for the weekend. But it won't be too relaxing. We are heading to GTown this weekend. We will be attending the Duck's Unlimited banquet. I am also going to a friend's baby shower. My brother just got his modular placed on the foundation so it will be good to see his new home.

I thought this photo was quite funny! I caught my first fish of the season last weekend. The wind made it a tad chilly but we stuck it out. I outfished my man...which is funny since is spends half his time helping me. But this time it was all skill! I was able to only lose 1 lure! I was pretty stoked. We are hoping to fish the Yellowstone around GTown.

We went to Emily's Birthday party. Oh what fun we had! We witnessed 50 plus mile an hour winds...WHEW...Emily couldn't even fly her kite she got!
Then we played cards. We had a great time! Time just flew by. Poor men lost but they were good sports. Competitive. That was really the word for the evening. NERTZ. Yes...check it out. What fun we had playing NERTZ! I can't wait to play again.
It snowed again today. I hope this is the last time. Fishing & camping are right around the corner. I am so ready! We are thinking of going fishing this weekend. So I guess I better start practicing...HERE FISHY...HERE FISHY.

Happy Spring! Lucky us....it snowed on the first day of spring! What is up with that?





I am heading to Gtown for Easter. My brother's birthday is Saturday so it will be fun to celebrate with him. I am also getting some furniture from my parents. They had a big house when they lived in Billings so I am lucky they didn't dispose of it. I get to rumage and fill up my condo with their stuff :)

I play volleyball & we WON last night! WOO HOO! We actually played great.

So there it goes. Another update. I have heard I need to update more. I won't use the choice words from my brother but he "suggested" I update more. And he only reads Angie, Jenn & my blog. So ladies...keep blogging :) I guess our lives are more exciting that we thought....at least mine anyhow. Maybe Trent will even strike a pose that I can post. We'll see.

Worst Blogger Ever

So I am reading all of my friends' blogs this morning. Ang has a new job. Jenn isn't feeling up to par. Shannon is running her ass off :) TN is getting TONS of snow.

And since this new blog, I can't figure out to put my links back on. I will still try. Maybe I should call Beth?? She seems to know EVERYTHING!

Anyhow....I am reading thinking how terrible blogger I have become. Oh it isn't that I lead an exciting life and could blog everyday. I should blog. That is the bottom line. We are all busy and don't get to chat like we would like. So blogging is a way to catch up on each others' lives. So I apologize for not blogging more. I will try & do better. So thanks for stopping by for a chance that I may have updated my blog.

So I bought a new couch last Sunday. I absolutely love it. I haven't ever had a nice couch. So after my tax refund came it, I went SHOPPING!! I figured I would buy something for my condo instead of just spending it on needless things. So I hope you stop by to sit awhile :) I really believe you could sleep very comfortably on this thing. It has a chase lounge & 2 recliners! Shane & I had quite a time getting that chase downstairs but it is there to stay. Good thing my Dad left some puddy so we could patch up some nicks. Now I just need to make a trip to Gardiner to pick up some furniture from my parents. Then my rec room will be complete! And then let the games begin! I can't wait to have a game night.

This photo isn't in my rec room. I did take some photos but can't find my camera cord to hook up to my computer. Isn't moving a BLAST?? If you haven't tried it, you should.

I LOVE MY CONDO

Here are a few pictures of my new place. I am still trying to get settled. I finally unpacked all the boxes I had in my garage. I went through my camping stuff & so I have the itch to go. Only 88 more days! I can't wait to go fishing.

Eclipse

I was able to see the beautiful eclipse Weds night after playing volleyball. WOW! It was so cool! I wish I could have had my camera.

Homesteader

I own a condo! WOO HOO! Wait...this means I have a mortgage. YIKES

Anyhow, here are some photos. It isn't MY condo but one that is for rent 2 doors down. I'll post pics of mine later. I'll be painting & cleaning all weekend so stop on by!

BRRR

It finally has hit below zero for the highs. BRRRRR. BRRRRR. The snow is beautiful but gosh is it chilly. But thankfully I have been busy INSIDE packing. I close this Thurs. on my condo. I am glad I didn't unpack everything when I moved to MT but I still have some stuff to pack up. We will paint this weekend & slowly move in the next couple of weeks. I am not sure when the big stuff will be moved. Shane & I are going to Red Lodge for Valentine's weekend. So that weekend is out. It shouldn't take but a couple of hours to move the big stuff. I am not moving far, which is a good thing. I may be able to get everything moved the weekend of the 10th. The weather will be a factor as well. I don't want anyone getting frostbite!

Bone chilling

So I move back to Montana after being away about 12 years. Yes, I remember the snow we use to have, being able to sled off our garage roof & make snow tunnels in the drifts. I haven't been cold either. Usually when I would come back to visit, I would FREEZE & have to stand by the stove wearing a coat just to stay thawed.
UNTIL YESTERDAY
The wind cut through my skin & went straight to my organs & bones. BRRRRR
Oh when I went to work it was 43 degrees. When I left work it was 23. BRRRRR
Can I handle being outside in this freezing weather? I guess I will find out. This weekend we are heading to West Yellowstone with my cousin for the snowfest. So I will get out my thermals & I will be fine. I may look like the marshmallow man but I will be warm.

Friends...memories

Wilmas, Wilmas, Wilmas! I can't wait to make some more memories with all of you. You are a GREAT group of friends. I am thankful you are in my life.

Amy's bday was Thurs so we went out to lunch to celebrate. Always a good time with the Wilma's.

This Sat I am taking an 8 hour new homeowner class that is required for my loan. So that will be a fun time learning about owning a home. Shane is going to bear the day with me so it won't be so bad :) I am getting ready to close on my condo the end of Jan then let the fun begin! I will be a painting fool & taking off hidious wallpaper. So if you want to help, just let me know! It will be a fun time.

Happy 2008

I don't make New Year's resolutions. I have a hard time keeping them. By mid Jan they are usually already broken. I am going to try and do better at some things. So maybe over time these will be accomplished.
As Shane & I were driving home from Gardiner on New Year's Day, the mountains were breathtaking. We couldn't believe the blue sky & new snow capped mountains. WOW! I wonder how anyone could take this for granted. The beauty around us. I have lived a lot of places but still think Montana is so majestic. God created this beauty for us to enjoy. So let's enjoy it instead of just rushing around not noticing our surroundings. We were also able to drive to Cooke City. The buffalo, elk, wolves, coyotes, bald eagles we saw. Where else can you see all of that in a 4 hour drive? And the snow on the evergreens....a winter wonderland. I too can't wait for the camping & fishing to begin! Kudos to Jenn & Ang for the countdowns.
I am searching for somewhere where I can contribute to society. I am not sure what this will be but I am going to be on the hunt to help somewhere where there is a need. I am not sure if this will be working with children, helping women in some sort of way or volunteering. I just feel so blessed as what I have and want to give something back to society.
I want to spend more time with friends. I want to be better at calling friends, checking up on family & friends. I don't feel like I let them know how much they are appreciated in my life. I am thankful for every family member & friend I have. They are the best ever!
I am excited to purchase my first home, a condo & hope to enjoy it even more with family & friends.
I want a more healthy lifestyle. I miss exercising so I am hoping to start walking again, joining a gym or have some sort of routine to get me healthy again. I know I can do better than I have been doing in 2007.

Christmas 2007

Well all the rushing around is finally over. We are now looking forward to ring in 2008. I can't wait! Gardiner is the place to be for New Year's. I don't know if that is because the Wilmas are there or that we have an awesome dinner to get the party started. But I had a great Christmas spending time with family & friends.

3 elk down

Yoshi took Shane & I hunting this weekend. And we got all our tags filled! We got them right outside of Livingston. I can't believe how easy elk hunting it. HA! HA! Yoshi has been hunting for years & he said this was an easy hunt. The whole thing was done within 1 hour. All 3 shot & gutted. Well we had been scoping them out for about an hour. They were on a hay field but we needed our friend's permission to hunt on his land. So he finally came off the mountain with his hunter's elk in the back of his truck. We flagged him down. He filled out the permission slip to let us hunt on his land & away we went for our kill. Thanks Yoshi! We even drug them out of the wind. WOW! Was the wind blowing....yes by Livingston. AMAZING.

This weekend we will be cutting it up into steaks, roasts, burger & sausage. I can't wait to eat elk! I love it! Here are some pics from our hunt.
