Shocking....just shocking

I know I shouldn't blog about this since I didn't vote but I have been watching and do have an opinion. So here goes. Kris...winning...really? He is okay...when I can understand what he is singing. He is kind of a mumbler singer. But really....clearly Adam is a much better performer/singer. I loved him singing with Kiss! CLASSIC! Danny was and is my favorite but I just knew Adam was going to win. WOW! I am shocked! It was a great season with many suprises. I loved Kara singing last night! That was AWESOME!

2009 Race for the Cure

We went to Helena for Race for the Cure last weekend & had a BLAST! I left work early on Friday so we could get to Helena early, relax, swim & visit with the Wilmas. I was meeting my parents in Bozeman for supper & then my Mom & I would be off. Well my Dad wanted to get home so he ate & left before we were finished. So as my Mom & I were almost finished, I asked my Mom where her bags were. 

Side note: Now you have to understand my Mom. She would be devistated to go somewhere without her curling iron & make up. There would be no borrowing that stuff for her.

She looked at me and said a couple choice words. She tried to my brother in Gardiner. No answer. She tried his girlfriend. No answer. She knew they would be at Kelly's shop. He answered. Gave the phone to Maaika and said, "It sounds important." My Mom asked her to try track down my Dad via the highway so we wouldn't have to go all the way back to Gardiner to get her bags. My Dad, of course, doesn't own a cell phone nor does he know how to use one. So I got on my phone called Town Pump knowing he would stop there for gas. I also knew he would go inside since he pays cash for gas. I told the gal on the phone, "My Dad will be coming in to pay for gas. He has glasses on and a Scheel's hat. Please tell him to wait for us. He has Moms' bags." So we ZOOM and I mean ZOOM to Livingston. No Dad at the Town Pump nor did he leave her bags there. So off we head to Gardiner. Maaika calls at Pray, about 20 minutes south of Livingston. She says, " THE BAGS HAVE BEEN SECURED. THE BAGS HAVE BEEN SECURED." We met her, got the bags and off we went. So we got to Helena about 9pm. We had a great time! It is always good to hang out with the Wilmas. It seems our outings get bigger & bigger. More kidos. More family. It is GREAT!! Then Keri & I headed to Gardiner after the race. So here are a few pictures from our wild adventure. 

This weekend we are off to camp & fish at Tongue River. I cannot wait! I am sure there will be some great pictures to post. Sounds like there might be about 30 people coming!

Randoms

Okay. So I haven't blogged lately but I thought I would write & say HI. So HI.

This weekend the Wilma's are going to Helena for Race for the Cure. I can't wait because we always have a great time, even if Ang & Jenn are not nice to the car following them. My Mom is coming for the first time this year. Maybe it will be a tradition for her to come now that she doesn't have the KBAR to tend to. Yes, the new owner did open last week so I can't wait to go there and see what he has done to the place.

Shane, TJ and I have been busy. We helped a friend brand 60 cows. We have been decorating and spring cleaning our house. Wow....putting 2 households together is such a chore but we are enjoying every minute of it! We are also planning a reception in Gardiner on June 13th. We are still deciding on a place to hold it but please if you can come, we would love to have you. We are going to BBQ a whole pig and just have a good ole time!

Prepare to be awed by Odd Day. For the mathematically challenged, Thursday's date, 5/7/09, is one of only six this century that will feature three consecutive odd numbers.

Numbers lovers say the rare occurrence is an excuse to celebrate.

"The previous stretch of six dates like this started with 1/3/1905 — 13 months after the Wright Brothers' flight," said Ron Gordon, the Redwood City teacher who enthusiastically promotes these numerical holidays, like Square Root Day on 3/3/09.

Gordon is offering a prize of $579 to those who celebrate the date with the most zeal or who get the most people involved in an Odd Celebration.

Back to life....back to reality

Well married life is great. We are getting settled and  just enjoying being married. April has been a crazy month. First the wedding in Vegas. Then we went to Gardiner for Easter. Then I took the Fundamentals of Payroll Certification exam (which I passed). So now I can do some things I have been meaning or wanting to do. I want to read Eclipse. I finally got to see the movie Twilight. Bella was annoying as ever. I need to take some of my clothes to Goodwill. I have way too many we just don't have the closet space to keep extras "just in case I will ever be that size again." I need to get my fishing stuff ready. Camping is right around the corner and the ice fishing stuff can be put away.  I still need to get the wedding photos arranged.

Did you happen to catch the Nascar race yesterday? WOW! What a finish! I thought Carl Edwards was done...done...done. Hitting the fence like that...WOW! Eight fans were injured so I hope they are okay. Anyone who says Nascar is BORING..watch the ending to yesterday's race and you too will be a fan!

So maybe I will actually post more often now that I have some free time. 

Wedding Pallooza!!

WOW...what a weekend! We had a great time in Vegas for our wedding. It was SPECTACULAR! I think everyone had a good time. I am still sifting through over 600 photos so my favs will be coming. I posted a few on facebook so check those out. 

Here are a few hightlights from the weekend:

1. Our flight was suppose to leave at 8:30. We ended up leaving about 11pm. So we pulled out the I've Never bar cards & Keri kept us entertained by answering every single card. WOW! I learned a lot about that Wilma!

2. It takes 10 minutes, at the most, to get your marriage license in Vegas.  Show your drivers license...$55 cash & you can be married too!

3. The strip is INCREDIBLE! The hotels were amazing. 3 drinks on the strip $74 not so amazing but dang tasty! Thanks Dad!

4. The seafood buffet at the Rio...one of a kind...a must if you go to Vegas. 

5. Trent paying $21.00 per day for his room.....$35 per day for his scooter! 

6. Trent seemed like a celebrity everytime the bus had to load him. We heckled him..took pictures...Then the driver asked "Who is with Scooter Boy?"

7. Trent getting scolded on the city bus for not placing his scooter correctly on the bus. Dee honking his horn & almost getting Trent kicked off the city bus. I guess our Bit@h from Hell bus driver had a rough day & took it out on a guy on a scooter.

10. And last & certainly not least...my Dad...our hero. He caught a purse snatcher..well pushed him down not once but twice! Even though he stole my thunder on my wedding day, he is still my hero!

32 days till the wedding?? Wow...time is flying by.

So here is what I know.

Arriving April 2nd in Vegas on Allegiant Air. 

Staying through Sunday at The Golden Nugget.  Yes it is on Freemont St. Yes I will swim through the tube that goes through a SHARK TANK!!  I am hoping to ride on Speed.

We will be getting married at Viva Las Vegas Weddings outside in a gazebo. We will have dinner & WEDDING CAKE (Dee was worried I wouldn't have a cake) at Binion's Steakhouse.

Here is a picture of my wedding planner...thanks Dee for all your help! And Russ..thanks for coming even though we don't know you that well. I am sure we will get to know each other very well in VeGaS!!

Trent is the assistant wedding planner. Thanks to the best brother in the world for all your hard work. Wow....he has stepped up to the plate & has done some awesome research! Even though he is staying at Golden Gate Hotel & Casino

which claims to have the best tail in Vegas, we will let him swim with us!

I am in trouble

We went ice fishing at Dead Man's Basin & I caught 2 fish...the only fish that we caught that day. I just don't know how I do it but I outfished Shane again. He has taught me a lot about fishing mostly river though but I think he has taught me a little too well. Now I outfish him all the time. Not all the time when we fish the rivers but lake fishing...look out!! The mountain pictures were taken on the way to Cooney Dam. I just loved the pink sky and the snow capped mountains. Breathtaking! 

I love Gladys. WOW..this is funny! I love elderly people..so honest & sweet.

Random thoughts

So you are back reading my blog. It hasn't been too exciting here. Just enjoying the 60 degree weather though it will be changing Thurs night...back to a low of 12 degrees with a 60% chance of snow & Friday with a high of 19. So enjoy the sunshine today!

We have been ice fishing the past couple of weekends. The weather has been beautiful. I even got sunburned..a sunburn in MT in Jan?? I know...CRAZY. We are planning on going again this weekend so we will probably freeze to death but if we catch fish, it will be worth it. We haven't caught a fish yet ice fishing so I will be sure to post pictures when that happens.

We purchased our plane tickets & room reservations for VEGAS BABY! So let the planning begin.

So I am saving boxes to move..yet again..but it will be worth it. I love Shane so much and we both are so ready to tie the knot. We both are a bit nervous but are very excited. There are about 25 people that will be there for our wedding and I am so blessed to have so many friends and family that want to share in our special day. We will have a reception in Montana later so those who couldn't make it to Vegas can celebrate with us then.
